Editor note: Nutty and very slightly smoky pome fruit scent with herbal-vegetable nuances. Also in the mouth, nutty and a little smoky, very slightly warm fruit, fine acidity and grip, good persistence, a trace of dark berries in the background, certain minerality, good to very good finish.

The municipality of Nierstein-Schwabsburg with around 8,400 inhabitants is located on the Rhine in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The Schwabsburg district was an independent municipality until 1970. One of the three wine-growing areas in the Rheinhessen wine-growing region was also named after Nierstein, the other two being Bingen and Wonnegau. The wine-growing region is located in Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany and is named after the region. The name is derived from the historical affiliation as the province of Rheinhessen of the Grand Duchy of Hesse from 1816 to 1919.
