2019 Schweigen Sonnenberg Pinot Noir VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken "Sankt Paul", Pfalz, Germany

Firm, clear and youthful, somewhat smoky and nutty aroma of first predominantly red, then increasingly dark berries with cherry notes, red pepper, a hint of saffron and floral nuances as well as fine wood spice. Tart, firmly woven, youthful fruit with present tannins, slight bitterness and noticeable acidity, ethereal herbal notes and a hint of pepper and juniper on the palate, also salt in the background, slightly minty tones, hints of liquorice, very good, tart and very firm, initially still somewhat brittle finish, which gains noticeably in juice with air.
