2017 Schweigen Sonnenberg Pinot Noir trocken "Steinwingert", Pfalz, Germany

Clear, firm aroma of black and red berries with tobacco aromas, hints of dried meat, pepper and a touch of tar. Taut, tart, relatively dark fruit with smoky wood aromas, lots of salt, some herbs and noticeable bite, present, fine sandy, youthful tannins, persistent, chalky and salty in the background, somewhat ethereal, lots of power, good depth, firm construction, becomes fresher and finer with air, very good, pithy finish. Needs to mature.
