Firm, polished nose, predominantly black berries and some Amarena cherries, with fine spicy bread crust, some pepper and fleshy traces. Clear, polished, finely juicy, tart and cool fruit, nutty and again slightly reminiscent of spice bread tones, a hint of smoke, peppery and juniper nuances in the background, marjoram, a hint of bacon, good persistence, some depth, lean but still with substance, very good, cool, tart finish. Needs a little more ageing.
Synonym (also Blauer Lemberger) for the grape variety Blaufränkisch; see there.
