Clear, straightforward, slightly fleshy-animalic nose of black berries with a little minty-herbal, nutty and tobacco hints as well as some toastiness. Quite juicy, relatively fresh fruit, toasty flavours, some sandy tannin and slight acid bite, peppery and minty tones, a hint of cocoa and smoke, good persistence, a little bitter chocolate, noticeable but integrated alcohol, good to very good, a touch drying finish.

Best to drink: 2022-2027+. What our ratings mean
