2013 Spätburgunder trocken Wunderwerk, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm nose, dried vegetal and floral notes, delicate hint of bacon and juniper, red and black berries, earthy and mineral notes, cardamom and fairly prominent dried herbs. Clear, cool elegant, juicy, polished fruit on the palate, prominent herbaceous notes, some more dried floral aromas and a hint of juniper, some bite, fine sandy tannins, spicy notes reminiscent of alphabet biscuits, hint of pomegranate, salty mineral notes in the background, hint of tobacco and licorice, still youthful, very slightly astringent, medium body, very good juicy, spicy finish.
