2021 Oberstenfeld Forstberg Spätburgunder VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Württemberg, Germany

Quite firm, dry, somewhat tobacco-woody nose with predominantly dark berries, mushroom notes, a hint of bacon, musk, and earthy-underwood tones. Tight, cool, dry fruit, noticeable acidity bite, and present, fine sandy tannins, smoky and slightly ashy on the palate, a lot of salt, good sustainability, initially a bit drying, then juicier, a hint of citrus zest and smoked salt, herbal hints, very good, dry finish with fresh juice, maritime nuances, and minerality.
