2021 Bönnigheim Schupen Spätburgunder VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Württemberg, Germany

Quite firm, slightly fleshy and mushroom-like, rather astringent aroma with red and black berry notes, hints of cherries, bacon, and smoky tones, a touch of Mediterranean herbs and beetroot. Tight, firm, astringent, juicy fruit, youthful, relatively present tannin, noticeable acidity, a bit of beetroot in the background, lots of pepper and distinct, salty minerality, again smoky-bacon aromas, some depth, a hint of juniper, very good, firm, astringent finish with distinct minerality.
