2014 Bönnigheim Sonnenberg Lemberger trocken VDP.Erste Lage, ****, Württemberg, Germany

Tart nose, still slightly closed, light green vegetal notes, hint of tobacco, sour cherries and black berries, hint of undergrowth. Light-bodied, firm, tart fruit on the palate, earthy and vegetal notes, peppery traces, prominent juniper, fairly prominent tannins, initially slightly sandy and astringent, with aeration provides backbone, light toasted oak, still largely undeveloped, earthy and mineral traces, tart nutty notes, hint of tobacco, very good firm finish.
