2014 Weil Spätburgunder trocken, Baden, Germany

Nose initially still slightly restless, but clears up with aeration, then polished, herbaceous, nutty notes, predominantly red berries, some beet root, parsley, mushrooms and earthy notes. Clear, tart, polished fruit on the palate, cool and juicy, slightly bitter touch of old oak, mushrooms, earthy notes, fine sandy, youthful tannins, light acid bite, light smoky traces and ashes in the background, salty mineral notes, good persistence, hint of citrus zests, some bite, light toasted notes on a good to very good finish.
