2021 Gau-Algesheim Silvaner trocken "Bergen", Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm and deep, concentrated, somewhat smoky and restrained toasty-woody aroma with distinct vegetal aromas, yellow fruits, a little mushrooms, fennel seeds and yellow spice. Ripe, tightly knit, perfectly dry fruit with tart vegetal and again somewhat smoky-woody tones, nuts and a little mushroom, moderate acidity, lots of grip of crumbly tannin, some tobacco and tobacco ash in the background, quite clear minerality, has power and substance, still young, very good, firm, tangy and spicy, multi-layered finish with vegetal and mushroomy notes.
