2020 Appenheim Spätburgunder VDP.Aus Ersten Lagen trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Relatively firm, youthful aroma of predominantly dark berries and cherries with quite distinct floral aromas, hints of leather, traces of juniper and violets as well as a little herbal spice in the background. Polished, initially rather cool, fine-juicy fruit, very fine tannin and delicate acidity, quite persistent on the palate, a hint of bitter chocolate and pepper, herbal nuances, a little salt, also smoky hints, warms up with air and also softens in contours, very good, tart-juicy finish with hints of bitter chocolate, earthy and tobacco spice.
