2021 Malterdingen Chardonnay VDP.Ortswein trocken, Baden, Germany

Clear, polished and quite firm, bright, delicately smoky nose of citrus fruit and pomaceous fruit with fresh herbs and a little mussel meat. Taut, cool, finely juicy fruit with lively, polished acidity and still slightly yeasty notes, persistent on the palate, delicately smoky, salty-chalky minerality in the background, fresh herbs again, chicory, some smoke and light wood, elegant style, very good, taut, finely juicy finish with tension.
