2020 Malterdingen Bienenberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs, Baden, Germany

Firm and deep, slightly herbal and a little peppery-ethereal scent of poppy seeds and ripe mixed berries and also a little cherries with very restrained, somewhat tobacco and smoky wood spice. Tart, dense, rather dark blueberry fruit with sour cherries, smoky, nutty and very slightly cocoa-spicy aromas, dried herbs and a little dark ethereal spice in the background, mushroomy nuances, a hint of citrus zest and salty minerality, a hint of honey, persistent, certain power, good depth, still undeveloped, develops into slightly stemmy with air, very good, quite concentrated, firm, tangy and ethereal-spicy finish.
