2020 Hecklingen Schlossberg Chardonnay Grosses Gewächs, Baden, Germany

Deep and very firm, compact, still smoky-reductive, also slightly yeasty, at the same time relatively dark aroma with yellow-fruity and quite clearly mushroomy aromas, fine-vegetable notes reminiscent of artichokes and broccoli and some dark, also smoky wood spice. Again compact, tart, yet extremely juicy fruit with fine artichoke and broccoli notes, yeasty, smoky and intensely mineral tones, present, fine acidity and grip, persistent and deep, restrained power, still completely undeveloped, long, decidedly firm finish with plenty of draw, juice and again minerality. Definitely needs to mature.
