Relatively tart, nutty and a little woody aroma of more black than red berries with earthy and tobacco notes and a hint of tar. Developed, yet still relatively tightly knit fruit, smoky and woody notes, a hint of meat juice and tar, a little mushroom in the background, some acid bite and relatively fine, yet quite present tannin, persistent on the palate, quite distinct minerality, has power but also cooling elements, very good, firm, tart and spicy, again slightly smoky finish. Completely different from the obviously clearly impaired sample from the beginning of 2015; still stands excellent.

Best to drink: Bis 2024+. What our ratings mean

Editor note: Translate to English Getrocknet-vegetabile bis leicht krautige, auch etwas holzige und unterholzige, ein wenig schärfende Nase mit zurückhaltenden Kirsch- und Beerentönen sowie erdigen Noten. Auch im Mund eher verhaltene, fast matte Frucht, vegetabile bis leicht krautige und auch erdige Noten, leicht spröde und ein wenig holzig am Gaumen, dunkles Karamell, gewisse Nachhaltigkeit, nicht sehr tief, ordentlicher, trocknender Abgang. Enttäuschend.

Editor note: Translate to English Leicht Politur-ähnliche Holztöne in der Nase, dazu eingemachte gemischte Beeren, etwas Leder, Trockenkräuter und vegetabile Töne. Kräftig im Mund, wieder deutlich holzig und dadurch auch ein wenig spröde, ledrige Noten, herbe Lebkuchengewürze sowie erdige und vegetabile Aromen am Gaumen, ein wenig Esskanstanie, viel Schmelz, aber auch deutliche Feinheiten, teils mürbes, teils trocknendes Tannin, gute Substanz und Nachhaltigkeit, guter bis sehr guter, nur wieder holziger, nougatwürziger und auch alkoholstarker Abgang. Wirkt fast ein wenig wie zu bald abgefüllt; braucht Flaschenreife.
