2016 Mettenheim Schlossberg Riesling Spätlese trocken Steinsweg, Rheinhessen, Germany

Light vegetal and floral notes on the nose, pomaceous and stone fruit, hint of mushrooms and tobacco, earthy notes. Ripe, fairly juicy, slightly sweetish fruit on the palate, some sugar candy,floral, vegetal and herbaceous aromas, delicate hint of red berries, lively acidity, slightly creamy, but also has some grip, noticeable earthy and salty mineral notes in the background, still slightly muted, light nutty notes, very good finish. Signficantly better than the first sample, which was obviously faulty.
