2016 Mettenheim Michelsberg Chardonnay Spätlese trocken Heilbrunnen, Rheinhessen, Germany

Nutty nose, some yellow spice, delicate buttery traces, ripe citrus fruit and apricot, some almonds, whiff of passion fruit, dried herbs and floral traces. Ripe, partly preserved, slightly off-dry fruit on the palate, yeasty notes, hinjt of smoked bacon, come cereals, lively acidity, slightly sandy tannins, vegetal and earthy notes, still slightly muted, medium body and persistence, hint of corn, good to very good finish with prominent nutty notes.
