2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Cabernet-Merlot Riserva "Arzio", Alto Adige, Italy

Somewhat dried herbaceous, light tobacco and hints of pepper on the nose, black berries with some mint, earthy notes, dried mushrooms, root vegetables and peppers. Ripe, tart dark fruit with smoky and also slightly sooty notes, pepper, hints of juniper, coffee and bitter chocolate, crumbly, sandy tannins, warming alcohol, good persistence, a hint of salt, bacony nuances, again dried root vegetables in the background, good to very good, slightly muted finish with a certain alcoholic sharpness.
