2022 Assmannshausen Pinot Noir VDP.Ortswein trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Clear, polished, slightly roasted and fatty, transparent nose with red and black berry notes as well as a hint of herbs, cherries, forest floor, and tobacco. Polished, juicy, again transparent fruit, fine tannin and delicate bite, a bit of smoke and a trace of cocoa on the palate, underbrush nuances, quite elegant style, a bit of salt in the background, not too deep, but carefully made, very good finish with a touch of root vegetables and cocoa.
