2022 Assmannshausen Pinot Noir VDP.Ortswein trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Firm, somewhat smoky and hinted leathery aroma of ripe black berries with a hint of cherries, tobacco and peppery traces as well as a little beetroot and bread bark in the background. Dense, quite juicy, youthful, dark fruit, again quite firm, fine sandy, crumbly tannins, a hint of bitter chocolate and smoky wood notes on the palate, herbal hints, a hint of pepper, beetroot again, hints of bacon, persistent, certain depth, lots of power, but also refreshing citrus and blackcurrant nuances, still undeveloped, very good, dense, juicy and spicy finish.
