1999 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Spätburgunder Spätlese trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Cool, mineral nose, dried herbs, forest berries and blackcurrants. Very pure, elegantly juicy fruit, firmly woven, very fine-grained, still present tannins, more mineral notes on the palate, appears elegant even though it is so powerful, attractive, bite, some toasty oak in the background, excellent balance, persistent, very long finish.
