The winery is located in the municipality of Dorn-Dürkheim (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of
Rheinhessen. The winery, which has been in the family for several generations, has been run by Axel and Anke Kreichgauer since 1991. The vineyards cover 12.5 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Römerberg (Alsheim), Hasensprung and Römerberg (Dorn-Dürkheim), Gau-Odernheim (Fuchsloch), Herrengarten (Oppenheim), and Fraugarten (Wintersheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Bacchus and Ortega, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Cabernet Dorio and Cabernet Dorsa
The vineyards are consistently cultivated according to the rules of organic viticulture, certified according to ECOVIN since the 2007 vintage. The wines are mainly vinified dry. The white wines are aged for a long time on the
fine lees. Selected white wines and red wines are matured in barriques. The top wines are declared with the designation "S". The premium wines include the white wine "Riesling Alte Reben Dorn-Dürkheimer Hasensprung" and the red wine cuvée "Eigensinn". Around 85,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
