2019 Landwein Alter Satz "Vinum Frankonium Purpureum 20", Main, Germany

Tart, quite complex, somewhat dried-vegetable to herbal, slightly mushroomy and delicately floral nose of predominantly red berries and some cherries with a hint of smoke. Clear, tart and juicy fruit with some nutty and spicy wood flavours, crumbly tannin, good persistence, delicate melting, a hint of bacon and liquorice, some depth, salty and chalky tones, quite complex, very good, again lightly smoky finish with draught.
