The "Vins Miquel Gelabert" winery is located in the municipality of Manacor on the Balearic island of
Mallorca. It was founded in 1985 by Miquel Gelabert. Its vineyards cover eight hectares in the Plà i Llevant DO area and are spread over five vineyards: Es Morro, Es Poas, Es Rafalot, Son Caulse and Son Nadal. The autochthonous varieties Manto Negro, Callet and Moll (Prensal Blanc), the Spanish varieties Garnacha Blanca, Garnacha Tinta, Macabeo, Moscatel de Málaga, Parellada and Xarel Io, as well as the international varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Malvasia, Merlot, Moscatel de Alejandría, Pinot Nero, Riesling and Shiraz are cultivated. The winemaking process is a combination of traditional and modern methods. With the exception of Chardonnay, which is fermented in Allier oak, all other wines are fermented in steel tanks. The red wines mature for 12 months in American and French barriques. After bottling, the bottles are aged for 6 to 12 months before being put on the market. Around 20,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
