2022 Nierstein Pettenthal Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm and quite deep, slightly floral, somewhat herbal and a hint of yeasty aroma with flavours of ripe, not exclusively yellow stone fruit, a hint of mushrooms, saffron and some tobacco in the background. Ripe, polished, quite dense and juicy fruit, very fine acidity and some grip, moderate herbaceous and again very slightly tobacco spice, a hint of nutty on the palate, has power and also a certain mellowness despite the moderate alcohol, persistent, certain depth, quite dark, partly mineral spice, stony notes, firm, very juicy finish, again with dark spice reminiscent of allspice and pumpkin seed oil. Clearly shows its origin.
