2021 Nierstein Riesling Reserve "O", Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm, tart and quite deep, herbaceous-vegetable and very slightly peppery, also a hint of yeasty scent with restrained yellow-fruity aromas and dark, almost a little tobacco background. Ripe, dense, tangy and melting fruit, delicate smoky tones, herbs, again some tobacco and a hint of tar, grip of crumbly tannin, very fine acidity, persistent on the palate, good substance and depth, relatively compact structure, juniper and Earl Grey in the background, some smoked salt, multi-layered, very good, dense finish with some warmth and plenty of partly dark minerality.

Best to drink: Mitte 2024 bis 2032+. What our ratings mean
