2021 Nierstein Brudersberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm and quite deep, slightly tobacco, dried-herbal and a hint of yellow-spicy nose of ripe yellow fruits, especially quince, with yeasty and dried-floral nuances, certain minerality, some bergamot and a hint of butter and pepper. Ripe, tart, juicy, at first almost calm fruit, which gains noticeably in tension with air, pineapple tones, present acidity, some nutty and again a touch of buttery hints, relatively taut acidity and slightly sandy tannin, very delicate, sweetish melting, behind it a lot of tart minerality, again also yellow spice, good depth and persistence, quite complex, with plenty of air also green-leafy and resinous tones, very good, quite firm, quite grippy finish with noticeable bite, nutty hints and again a lot of partly dark minerality. Goes through a rollercoaster ride after opening, closes up on the second day and becomes slightly angular, on the third day it shows what it can do again.
