2019 Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Rosso "Scuro", Friuli/Venezia-Giulia, Italy

Somewhat animal and tobacco aroma of ripe, predominantly black berries with hints of cherry, a little date and a touch of tobacco and tar. Ripe, quite juicy, polished fruit, some toasty and bitter-chocolatey wood spice, smoky and very slightly animal tones, present, youthful, rather friable tannin, still drying quite lightly, good persistence, has power and warmth, earthy notes, noticeable alcohol, good to very good, again slightly drying finish with dark ethereal spice.
