Firm, somewhat leathery and a hint of earthy aroma of ripe black berries with hints of smoky, bacony barrel notes, a little malt, grilled beef, dried mushrooms and undergrowth. Ripe, quite dense, again unusually dark fruit, smoky and slightly roasted wood flavours, fine sandy tannins, persistent and very powerful on the palate, noticeable but integrated alcohol, some bitter chocolate, slight chilli spiciness and herbal-vegetable notes, a little Mediterranean spice, very good, warm, slightly bitter-woody finish.
