2019 Ghemme DOCG "Vigna Ronco al Maso", Piedmont, Italy

Tart, tobacco and smoky aroma of black and red berries with iodine, nutty and undergrowth barrel notes, tomato paste, morels, truffles, some tar, leaves and leather. Firm, still rather undeveloped fruit, smoky, tobacco and tarry notes, present, still slightly drying tannins and a certain acid bite, persistent and powerful on the palate, initially rather robust, but gains in finesse with air, a hint of citrus peel in the background, a hint of salt, very good, dense, juicy finish with bite and a noticeable tannic grip.
