2019 Barbaresco DOCG Nervo, Piedmont, Italy

Herbal scent of black and some red berries with tobacco nuances and juniper, some undergrowth, liquorice, tar and mushrooms. Tart fruit with woody and liquorice spice and nutty tones, fine sandy, a little drying tannin, some persistence, bitterish coffee grounds as well as a hint of soot and tar on the palate, mushroomy hints, hints of juniper-ethereal spice, warming alcohol, very good, tart, a little drying finish.

Best to drink: 2024-2029+. What our ratings mean
