2021 "Zahir Blanc", Pfalz, Germany

Relatively cool, firm, somewhat smoky, nutty and vegetal to herbaceous nose, light yellow fruit with a few white and green berries, lots of light oak, prominent marzipan and nuances reminiscent of redcurrant leaves and marjoram. Polished, cool, tart and juicy fruit with a hint of carambola, gooseberries and medicinal herbs, lively acidity, has some grip, good persistence, hints of citrus zest, blanched almonds and a hint of dark berries, light oak notes that only become more pronounced with air and are integrated again on the second day, some green pepper, chalky and salty minerality, very good, firm finish with cool juice. Needs to mature.
