2021 Grauburgunder trocken "Mineral", Pfalz, Germany

Somewhat smoky, nutty and dried-vegetable pomaceous fruit nose with citrus aromas, a little citrus zest, mushrooms, root vegetables and bacon. Ripe fruit with tart, smoky, nutty and slightly tobacco-like wood spice, earthy-rooty notes on the palate, chalky-salty tones, slightly ashy bitterness, noticeable alcohol, some nut butter in the background, good to very good, very slightly drying finish with a certain alcohol warmth.
