2021 Chenin Blanc "Herzog", Pfalz, Germany

Quite a dense, somewhat smoky and roasted nose of ripe citrus fruit, citrus zest and a hint of peach with bacony and yeasty nuances, a little yellow spice and floral traces. Ripe, melting, somewhat warm fruit, nutty and smoky wood spice, a hint of candy and caramel, fine acidity, crumbly, ripe tannins, persistent and powerful on the palate, chalky-salty minerality, yellow-spicy tones, certain depth, very good, fairly firm finish.
