Firmly woven, somewhat black berry, herbaceous, bacony, nutty and hints of toast with slightly peppery and medicinal hints. Ripe, tart fruit with nutty and somewhat bitter-chocolatey wood flavours, present, fine sandy tannin, good substance and persistence, peppers, pepper and some marzipan in the background, a hint of salt, very good, only somewhat drying and toasty finish with a pull. Still seems completely closed; needs time.
