2015 Spätburgunder, Pfalz, Germany

Hint of old oak on the nose, ripe red and black berries, dried herbs with a hint of bay leaf, hint of tobacco, peppery traces. Clear, fairly firm, ripe fruit on the palate, smoky notes and some undergrowth, some licorice, salty and peppery traces, good persistence, fine sandy tannins, light nutty aromas, ripe tannins provide some grip, good to very good finish.
