2014 Viognier trocken Zafrán, Pfalz, Germany

Golden in colour. Firm, deep, a little dried-mushroomy scent of partly preserved and dried yellow fruits with nutty and yeasty aromas, a hint of candy, yellow-floral nuances and a certain minerality in the background. Very tightly knit, melting, ripe, yet quite dry fruit, light nutty and yeasty aromas, very fine acidity, lots of power and substance on the palate, but also a certain polish, lasting, good depth, friable tannin that becomes a little drier with air, mineral foundation, still very young, spicy and herbal nuances, salt in the background, very good to long, juicy and spicy finish with notes reminiscent of shellfish
