2016 Maximin Grünhaus Riesling VDP.Ortswein Alte Reben, Mosel, Germany

Firm nose, mineral, vegetal and herbaceous notes, light yellow spice, yellow fruit and a hint of tobacco. Fairly firm fruit on the palate, lively acidity, noticeable tannic grip, still has some yeasty notes, herbaceous and delicate floral notes, prominent tart mineral notes, practically no residual sugar, persistent, good depth, still young and largely undeveloped, hint of tobacco and bacon in the background, touch of red and black berries, very good firm, sweetish, juicy, herbaceous finish with prominent mineral notes.

Editor note: Citrus and stone fruit on the nose, prominent herbaceous and mineral notes, still slightly yeasty, dried floral traces, hint of black berries. Firm, elegant, juicy, slightly off-dry fruit on the palate, yeasty as well as prominent vegetal and herbaceous aromas, lively acidity, persistent and quite concentrated, has bite and grip, some depth, intense tart mineral notes, still young and largely undeveloped, delicate floral traces, hint of dark berries in the background, very good firm finish.
