2017 Barolo DOCG La Morra, Piedmont, Italy

Some leaves and undergrowth in the nose, partly dried red berries, some tobacco, truffle and leather. Tart fruit in the mouth, earthy, nutty, tobacco and slightly smoky flavours, present, fine sandy tannin, good persistence, also mineral tones in the background, a trace of cocoa and liquorice, has grip, leathery hints, very good, firm finish.

Best to drink: 2023-2027+. What our ratings mean
