2022 Oppenheim Chardonnay VDP.Ortswein trocken Alte Reben, Rheinhessen, Germany

Finer, denser and deeper, slightly smoky and herbal scent with fine citrus and pome fruit aromas, a hint of artichoke and broccoli, shellfish meat, noble wood, and mineral nuances. Ripe, dense, quite juicy fruit with smoky, nutty, and slightly tobacco-like aromas, some roasting, a certain creaminess, moderate acidity, slightly ethereal spice, good substance and sustainability, relatively dark background, hinted juniper ham, bitter mineral tones, a bit of vanilla, also hinted coriander, fine vegetable nuances, gains noticeably in nobility, complexity and depth with air, very good, concentrated, mineral finish, again with ethereal notes.
