2023 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Sauvignon "Gfill", Alto Adige, Italy

Fest, somewhat nutty, vegetable to ethereal-herbaceous and delicate mushroom-like nose of yellow fruits with hints reminiscent of gooseberries, seashells, and tobacco, as well as a trace of smoke. Polished, bitter-juicy fruit with creaminess, a touch of cardamom and hinted ginger, lively yet fine acidity, good sustainability, with paprika and crab meat in the background, also a bit of spinach and pine nuts, chalky minerality, very good finish with cool plant aromas. A lot of wine for the money.
