2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Riserva "Lagröll", Alto Adige, Italy

Very light vegetal to herbaceous, with air also animal scent with tart, initially somewhat smooth aromas of black berries, a hint of sour cherry, moderate, nutty barrel tones and dried herbs. Ripe, juicy fruit, fine sandy tannins, still minimally drying, a certain acid bite, bitter chocolate and smoky-tobacco wood flavours, still hinted at lactic tones, dried herbs again in the background, finely bitter notes, gains substance, complexity and depth with air, still completely undeveloped, hints of juniper in the background, a pinch of salt, very good, firm finish. Needs to mature.
