2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot-Cabernet Riserva "Anticus", Alto Adige, Italy

Firm, slightly tobacco and a hint of smoke on the nose, predominantly ripe black berries with slightly fleshy notes, plums, some juniper, tomato paste and cedary nuances. Ripe, partly preserved, warm fruit, nutty and somewhat chocolaty wood, also a little coffee grounds and liquorice, crumbly, yet youthful tannins, malty tones on the palate, a little pepper, fennel and bread crust in the background, a little salt, slightly rustic style, which gains in juiciness and precision with air, very good finish.
