2004 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Freienfeld, Alto Adige, Italy

Cool, tart nose with black berries and some cherries, vegetal and smoky notes. Clear, tart, slightly juicy fruit on the palate, roasted oak, fairly prominent astringent tannins, medium substance and persistence, light vegetal notes, has some depth, quite full-bodied, still young, delicate floral and light herbaceous notes, astringent with notes of smoked meat on an otherwise good finish.
