2017 VR Alentejano Reserva "HDL", Alentejo, Portugal

Tart, somewhat tobacco and slightly waxy scent of black berries and pencil wood with a little pepper, black olives and tar. Ripe, warm, somewhat melting fruit with bitter chocolate notes, a little dried Mediterranean herbs, mushrooms and tar, crumbly sandy tannin, persistent on the palate, has power, a hint of salt and tobacco, hints of citrus zest, very good, tart, slightly drying finish with dark juice.

Best to drink: Mitte 2023 bis 2027+. What our ratings mean
