2004 VR Alentejano Syrah Reserva, Alentejo, Portugal

Preserved red and black berries on the nose, candied orange zest and some floral notes, light peppery notes and smoky, roasted notes. Very full-bodied, dark fruit and lots of smoky, roasted oak, medium-fine tannins, fairly prominent acidity, herbaceous notes on the palate, some chocolate, firm structure, very full-bodied, mineral notes in the background, still very young and largely undeveloped,good depth and length.
