Fürst von Metternich-Winneburg'sche Domäne, Schloss Johannisberg
Winery Wines Files 2

2012 Schloss Johannisberg Riesling trocken Grosses Gewächs, Silberlack, Rheingau, Germany

Firm and quite deep, almost cool, somewhat vegetal, relatively light citrus and stone fruit nose with delicate floral, smoky and mineral notes. Ripe, fairly juicy, sweetish fruit, very fine acidity, creamy texture with buttery notes, nutty and waxy traces, delicate grip, minerality in the background, rather soft contours, but relatively firm, albeit again rather sweet core, a hint of dark fruit, citrus zest in the background, hints of yellow spice, very good, sweetish-juicy finish. By no means old, but clearly softer than in previous years.
