Fürst von Metternich-Winneburg'sche Domäne, Schloss Johannisberg
Winery Wines Files 2

2010 Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Erstes Gewächs trocken Silberlack, Rheingau, Germany

Tart, firm, quite cool, clearly vegetal nose with citrus and stone fruit aromas, some cabbage and stony mineral notes. Taut, juicy fruit with present acidity, tart vegetable flavours, some tannic grip and clear minerality, persistent on the palate, has power, some depth, firm construction, first a little bitterish and roughening at the end, with air then juicy, very good, sweet finish. Clearly superior to the last, somewhat weaker bottle.
