2018 Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione Vigna Dofana, Tuscany, Italy

Firm, somewhat animalic and nutty-woody scent of cherries and mixed berries with tobacco aromas, a little peppery-ethereal spice as well as floral and herbal tones and a hint of olives. Ripe, juicy, melting fruit with clearly chocolaty wood and some vanilla, ripe, crumbly tannin, some bite, persistent and powerful on the palate, black olives in the background, a touch of liquorice and pepper, some depth, tobacco nuances, still young, some salt and smoke, very good, cherry-juicy and spicy finish.
